Ram borrowed a few ideas from its 1500 lineup this year, giving the 3500 a bit more flair without losing its work-first focus. The result? The first-ever Black Express and Warlock versions of this heavy-duty beast.
The 3500 Warlock takes a sportier, off-road-ready approach. It comes only as a Crew Cab 4WD short-bed and comes with Bilstein dampers, a rear limited-slip differential, hill descent control, and a transfer case skid plate for time on the trail. On the outside, it’s all attitude with a black grille surround, flares, bumpers, and a bold Warlock decal on the bed. It rides on 20-inch diamond-cut wheels wrapped in 34-inch Goodyear Duratrac tires, with paint colors ranging from Diamond Black to Flame Red. Inside, you’ll find cloth bench seats, carpet flooring, and all-weather mats that can take a real beating.
Meanwhile, the 3500 Black Express adds a cleaner, more refined look. Available as a Crew Cab with RWD or 4WD and either a short or long bed, it brings a sport performance hood, body-colored bumpers and grille, 20-inch black wheels, and cab-length black side steps. It also adds front and rear parking sensors for easier maneuvering. The interior sticks to the same cloth-and-carpet combo as the Warlock, with a wide choice of exterior colors shared between both trims.
Every Ram 3500 features a standard 6.4-liter HEMI V8 delivering 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque; it mates with an eight-speed automatic transmission. (This setup is the only option for the Power Wagon trim, which remains four-wheel drive only.) For max muscle, there’s the 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel, good for 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.
With the right configuration (the diesel), you’ll unlock the 3500’s unheard-of 36,610-pound towing capacity. Models with the V8 have a towing capacity of 18,150 pounds. The Ram 3500 has a payload of up to 7,590 pounds.
Dodge gives you plenty of ways to build your 3500. The short bed measures 76.3 inches, while the long bed stretches to 98.3 inches. Both are 66.4 inches wide and about 20 inches deep, leaving 51 inches between the wheel wells. You have options with cab choices, too. They range from the regular cab (seating for three) to the crew cab (up to six passengers) and the spacious Mega Cab, which seats five with extra stretch-out room in back.
Tech-wise, Ram offers a 12-inch touchscreen as standard, while upper trims now get an available 14.5-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The upgrades don’t stop there: you can also add a 12.3-inch driver display, 10.3-inch passenger screen, twin wireless charging pads, and a 2.4-kW bed-mounted power inverter for plug-in tools or gear.
