Every Gladiator is a capable truck, but each trim model appeals to a slightly different kind of driver. Let’s take a closer look at each of the four options: Sport, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave.
The Sport kicks off the lineup with a very basic setup, including crank windows and manual door locks. But it’s also a capable option, with standard four-wheel drive and trailer sway damping. The cabin is also home to a smartphone-friendly infotainment setup, with a 7-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Sport’s convertible soft top, fold-down windshield, and removable doors get you as close as possible to nature.
For more in modern conveniences, there’s the Overland. It adds timesavers like power accessories, including power windows, door locks, and a tailgate lock. Your infotainment system gets an upgrade, too, with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and built-in navigation. And the Overland also adds little pizzazz, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The Rubicon is the ultimate off-roader. If you can’t wait to scale mountains or fling up muddy riverbeds, this is the Gladiator for you. It’s got 33-inch all-terrain tires, Fox shock absorbers, locking front and rear differentials, and special fenders for increased ground clearance. The four-wheel-drive system includes a two-speed transfer case to ensure you get the torque you need in difficult terrain.
The Mojave is also a capable cruiser, but this trim model is designed more for desert off-roading. Its standard lineup includes Fox internal bypass shock absorbers with hydraulic jounce bumpers, a transfer case designed for high-speed four-wheel driving, and a 1-inch suspension lift.
